Yay for freakin sun!!!

Holy hell has it been a rough spring/early summer. As most of you know (since you live here anyway) this year has been sucky weather wise at best. We had two stellar weeks of sun in the early spring but since then it has been a downright mess. Looking on the bright side though is that since I've had little time to ride anyway, I'm hoping that all this rain has kept some of my competitors off the trails as well so when I race this weekend (yep, just realized this morning that I have a frickin race this weekend. I can already taste the vomit.) hopefully I'll only be off the back and not WAY THE FRICK off the back of the group. The best news is that the race is the most technical of the season with no climbing to speak of so I actually stand a chance of not embarassing myself and my family. Fingers crossed...

All the whining aside, we finally did see some sun this weekend. Friday was pretty sweet for our ride to Boston to visit my bro and his almost 1 yr old son and our first ever visit to the world of Ikea and it's never ending labarynth of all that is holy. I have to admit, the thought of Ikea sort of makes my bowels tremble because being a behomoth of a place it sort of goes against most of what I believe in but I do like cool stuff that doesn't cost an arm and a leg.

Saturday started out decent as well and I had dreams of getting out for a ride but before that could happen the sky opened up and we got frickin dumped on yet again. Enough so that a lot of driveways and roads were washed out. Good thing the state has all sorts of extra funds kicking around to rebuild roads...

Sunday also started out well but since we have no tv or internet at the moment we had no idea if we'd have a replay of Saturday....zzzzzzzz

Holy crap on a cracker was all that boring. Time to sum it up:

family went kayaking
I got a life jacket sunburn
no riding was had but I did squeeze in 1/2 hour of trail work.

there now, wasn't that much easier and less painful?

Are you planning to race the Campus Krusher? I'm debating it or Pat's Peak.

funny, I was going to see if you were going to orono. i'm supporting the maine series whenever possible this year so orono it is. not to mention, orono has MUCH less climbing so that is perfect for my out of shape ass.

Eh, looks like Pats Peak for me. Looks like you'll have a dry course on Sunday. Those roots when would make for a hellride!

wet roots would help me though since I tend to be pretty good on that stuff. at least in years past I was.
