The Dempsey Challenge

This past Sunday was the Dempsey Challenge, a charity ride to support the The Dempsey Center for Hope and Healing. Last year I did the 100 mile version with a couple of buddies. This year we opted to do the 70 since it would get us back early enough to enjoy some of the other festivities. The challenge is super cool for a couple of reasons. First, it always raises over a million smackers for the center and it's a ride where you can literally ride shoulder to shoulder with McDreamy as well as multiple pro-tour riders like Levi Leipheimer, Tom Danielson and Fast Freddie Rodriquez.

Here's Tommy D. right before the start.

most of our crew shortly after the start

We ran into Mr. Freye during the ride and got to enjoy his company for a while.

and by some miracle, we came across Marcy and Tim shortly after the
50 mile mark allowing us to ride together for a bit.

Levi was there as well.  I had all I could do to resist
picking him up and tickling his little belly.

Have you and Marcy ever swapped noses? Aside from size they are eerily similar.

I'm glad you made note of the size difference! Still...I think I am offended.

Oh - don't get me wrong. They're nicely shaped noses. Just sorta brother and sisterly-umm ish.

More like cousins - that is acceptable here in Maine.
